Biography

Benjamin Branch IV, the eldest of three brothers, inherited almost nothing in his father's will. However, that may have been because according to Branch family tradition, the oldest son received very little from his father's will, indicating that he had likely already been given his share of land before his father's death.. However the second son Edward, received the home and plantation on which his father had resided.

The Branches and Osborne families were close and there had been marriages between them prevoiusly. Benjamin married Elizabeth Eppes Osborne.
